Mr. Alex Dzurick

Title(s): Middle School English Math Teacher

Born and raised in Fulton, Missouri, Alex Dzurick earned a degree in Linguistics and Sociology from the University of Missouri. While in college, he worked at a children's science center and discovered a passion for teaching STEM. After receiving his teaching license, Mr. Dzurick taught middle school science and worked in community science education. He then pursued a master's degree in education from the University of Illinois, where he taught writing and communication courses, before moving to the Philadelphia area in 2017. In 2019, he joined the faculty at EFIP as the Grade 3 science teacher, and started teaching middle school math courses in 2020. In addition to teaching at EFIP, Mr. Dzurick also directs a math learning center and teaches courses at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Dzurick likes to write, solve crossword puzzles, and watch Jeopardy! (which he one day hopes to be on).
Mr. Dzurick has always been interested in language, and he enjoys working at a bilingual school because of the immersive, language-rich environment that EFIP creates. He loves the fact that he can learn from EFIP students about their language and cultures, which makes him both a teacher and a learner when he's at work.
