Syd Casey-Willig
Title(s): Lower School Teacher
Syd Casey-Willig (they/them) is joining EFIP as a long-term substitute in First Grade and PK4. A proud lifelong alum of the French International School, Syd studied English Literature and Philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of Chicago. This past year, they earned their Master’s in Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education while student teaching in a second-grade classroom in the Philadelphia School District.
Syd is fluent in both French and English and also speaks conversational Haitian Creole. They are passionate about multicultural and bilingual education, early literacy, and fostering a love of language in young learners. As a teenager, Syd interned in the Learning Support Department at the American School of Paris, an experience that inspired their passion for accessibility and flexibility in their teaching style.
Syd is absolutely delighted to return to EFIP—this time as a teacher rather than a student—and looks forward to the school year ahead!
