Born and raised in Paris, Sylvia Connelly is the French Program Coordinator for the French International School of Philadelphia where she began her tenure in 2004.

Ms. Connelly obtained her bachelor’s in education from the Ecole Normale of the Val de Marne and received her master’s in education from the University Paris Descartes. While in the United States she acquired a master of arts in French literature at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York.

With experience spanning the gamut from primary through post-secondary education, Ms. Connelly has taught the French program from kindergarten through fifth grade in several French and French American schools and has taught classes in French literature at Syracuse University.

Spending the last decade at the French International School, Ms. Connelly feels there is a family atmosphere that makes working at the school a positive experience. According to Ms. Connelly, working in a bilingual and multi-cultural environment with professional and motivated teachers has been an encouraging experience and opens one up to learning new things.
