Hélène Letoret joined the French International School of Philadelphia in 2014 and serves as a kindergarten and homeroom teacher. Born in Chalon-sur-Saone, France, Ms. Letoret has lived in Dijon, France, Dublin, Ireland and Perth, Australia. She is a native French speaker and is proficient in English. She also speaks some German.
Ms. Letoret received degrees in modern languages and economic studies from Université de Bourgogne, France and the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland.
Trained in Burgundy, Macon, Ms. Letoret served as a substitute teacher for several years during which time she taught students from prekindergarten through fifth grade. She later moved to Australia for a year to teach French to home schooled students and returned to her hometown of Chalon-sur-Saone to teach prekindergarden through second grade.
Ms. Letoret’s experiences have helped to pique her curiosity about other cultures and learning new languages. She believes that being bilingual helps to open one’s mind up to many possibilities. She greatly enjoys teaching students the French language and about her country and its culture.
In her spare time, Ms. Letoret enjoys basketball, tennis and traveling.
