A CELEBRATION OF 25 YEARS

In the fall of 1990, as Philadelphia’s French community was rapidly growing, a small but determined group of French and American individuals joined together with the common goal of establishing the area’s first French-American school.  On September 10, 1991, the Founding Committee’s efforts paid off when the French International School of Philadelphia opened its doors to its first 11 students from prekindergarten through second grade in a leased wing of the Baldwin School.

Twenty-five years later, though our primary mission remains the same, a lot has changed. Our school now welcomes more than 300 students from prekindergarten through eighth grade across two campuses in Bala Cynwyd. We also serve a broader community: not only French expatriates and American Francophiles, but families from all over the world, whose distinct backgrounds and experiences contribute to our unique and open-minded school culture.

Under the High Patronage of His Excellency Gérard Araud, Ambassador of France and in presence of Honorary Chair, Mr. Michel Charbonnier, Consul General of France, you are cordially invited to the 25th Anniversary Celebration Gala of the French International School of Philadelphia. Join us on March 25th, 2017 as we come together to celebrate our achievements and all of the people who have played a role in making them possible.

THE NIGHT

The evening will begin at 7:00 pm with aperitifs and hors d’oeuvres in the Carousel Room. Dinner by Brûlée Catering and Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix will be served at 8:00 pm in the spectacular Memorial Hall. Dancing to follow until midnight.

Dress: Cocktail Attire (Black Tie welcome).

ABOUT THE VENUE

Memorial Hall, the home of the Please Touch Museum, is the last major remaining building from the 1876 Centennial Exposition where nearly 10 million visitors from 37 countries visited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. One hundred and forty years later, the beautifully restored Memorial Hall will serve as a spectacular backdrop for the French International School’s 25th Anniversary Gala.

The museum has complimentary on-site parking. Please enter via the Carousel Room, to the right of the main entrance.
