Ms. Janet Dickman

School(s): Administration
Department(s): Administrative and Office Staff
Title(s): Admissions Assistant

Janet Dickman is typically one’s first point of contact when considering admission to the French International School of Philadelphia. As admissions assistant, she is the person to welcome you and give you an idea of the process to enroll your child.

A Philadelphia-area native, Ms. Dickman received her bachelor of science from Temple University and a master’s of education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Although a native English speaker, Ms. Dickman is highly proficient in French. She took her first French class in seventh grade and has never looked back. She finds great joy in working within a multi-cultural environment and feels the long term effects of bilingualism enables confidence in one’s ability to communicate, despite mistakes in the learning process.

She finds it especially rewarding to spend her days developing connections to new families and watch the students' progress through the years. Her advice to parents is to attend the school functions, classroom events and become involved in the Parent Association to meet other parents and make the transition easier. Social issues are a highlight for Ms. Dickman and she dedicates some of her free time to the Home School Association for the Lower Merion School District and The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

In her free time, Ms. Dickman enjoys playing jazz piano and is an avid reader. She loves running with her husband and watching her two sons play soccer.
