Molly John is a middle school English teacher with the French International School of Philadelphia. She received an English degree with a teaching licensure concentration from Elon University in North Carolina. Mrs. John was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society. She has also studied multiple languages including Latin, Spanish and German.

The child of an Army family, Mrs. John was raised in Tucson, Arizona; Stuttgart, Germany; London, England; and Kuwait City, Kuwait. When she was in middle school, she lived in Germany and quickly had to become fluent in German.

“The ability to speak another language and interact with the locals,” she said, “broadened my horizons and helped me gain a global perspective. I think it is important to be multilingual so that you can embrace other cultures and become a global citizen.”

Prior to joining the French International School, Mrs. John taught at schools in Maryland and North Carolina. She also served as the elementary school librarian for the American School of Kuwait and as a preschool teacher for the U.S. Embassy of Kuwait.

Now, working at the French International School feels like coming home to Mrs. John.

In her spare time, Mrs. John enjoys traveling and photography.
